Activists and the Law Society of Kenya have dismissed police denials of involvement, demanding immediate investigations into the disappearances, which have fueled protests and public anger, This comes after the latest spate of abductions in the country, with at least seven young people abducted since December 17, 2024.
At the same time, the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights said a total of 82 persons have been abducted since June, with 29 yet to be traced to date, The Commission said in the last three months, there have been 13 reported cases, One of those abducted in December has since been found.
The six who are still missing are Steve Mbisi from Machakos, Billy Mwangi of Embu, Peter Muteti of Nairobi, Bernard Kavuli of Nairobi, Rony Kiplang’at of Kiambu and Gideon Kibet alias Kibet Bull from Nairobi.
