BREAKING: Africa Union’s Peace & Security Council endorses joint mission with UN under Chapter VII, in Somalia peacekeeping operations next year, statement. The plan which will need UNSC approval, expands troop contributing countries…
Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter sets out the UN Security Council’s powers to maintain peace. It allows the Council to “determine the existence of any threat to the peace, breach of the peace, or act of aggression” and to take military and nonmilitary action to “restore international peace and security”.
The Somali Govt previously opposed the plan, Somalia should just accept the fact that they are a replica of the previous Afghan goverment. AS will overrun them in days if AMISSOM leaves. No need for chest thumbing and lies, Once Alshabaab gains more ground the same Somalia people will start crying to International Community.
