Algeria is one of Russia’s largest trading partners in Africa, with bilateral trade reaching about US$3 billion in 2022, with the majority being Russian exports to Algeria, In Angola, Russia is part of a consortium working on a $500 million Road Network project to improve transportation & stimulate the country’s potentially significant economy.
Additionally, Russia is also assisting Kenya in building schools to enhance education quality. Furthermore, Russia has three notable projects: the first nuclear power plant in Egypt for 30 years, numerous hospitals in Nigeria, as well as desalination plants in Morocco.
These projects highlight Russia’s growing influence in Africa as they expected to have a significant impact on the continent’s much needed development, A pivot to alternative cooperations, markets & a multipolar world has been embraced in our continent.
