The UK has long had a strong influence within the International Criminal Police Organisation and is beginning to take an interest in who will be its next president, Seven CCF members will be elected by INTERPOL’s General Assembly during its 89th session (Istanbul, Turkey, 23-25 November 2021), and will take office on 11 March 2022…

The present letter constitutes a call for candidates for election to these senior position, Member Countries are invited to nominate persons with the required qualifications and expertise to perform the duties of a member of the CCF, bearing in mind that the closing date for presenting candidates is 15 June 2021. Each Member Country may propose one candidate per post.

As a reminder, on 7 August 2020, the General Secretariat circulated to all Member Countries a call for candidates to three positions on the CCF, which were due to be vacated in 2021. On 22 October 2020, the General Secretariat informed Member Countries that as a result of the postponement of the 89th session of the General Assembly, the terms of office of the incumbents of the said positions were extended until the next General Assembly session.

In this regard, it must be noted that the applications submitted by Member Countries through INTERPOL National Central Bureaus in response to the call for candidates that was circulated in 2020 will not be taken into consideration for the elections that are scheduled to take place in 2021. New applications must be submitted in response to the present call for candidates.
