Established in 1997, Liberty’s more recent focus has been on Australia, where it has built up a solid portfolio of onshore and offshore acreage, however Liberty Petroleum signs deal with Somalia’s federal government to secure three deepwater blocks.
In 2013 Liberty Petroleum (Petroquest Africa) signed its first deal with Galmudug state, the deal was later nullified by the federal government, the Company has always kept its eyes peeled for high potential African acreage, more then 10 years ago, struck a provisional deal with Mogadishu to secure 3-deepwater blocks of its choice in Somalia.
